Wengen (1,274 m) - a public car free, traditional yet trendy holiday resort lying on a sheltered, sun-soaked terrace, 400 m above the picturesque Lauterbrunnen Valley.
The fantastic surrounding scenery is dominated by the dramatic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau massif. This amazing area offers family fun, hiking and superb skiing at Männlichen-Kleine Scheidegg and the Eiger Glacier. Since 1893, Wengen has been easily accessible from Lauterbrunnen with the historic Wengernalp Railway (WAB). Wengen has 1,405 inhabitants and offers 5,000 beds in 22 hotels and 500 appartments. The top events are the internation Lauberhorn world cup race and the Jungfrau Marathon.
The Region Jungfrau Top Ski is in winter the ideal starting point. The ski center Kleine Scheidegg - Männlichen with the famous down hill ski race from the Lauberhorn and Eigergletscher and a lot of red and blue runs which won’t let anybody miss out on skiing.

In January the international ski race takes place, probably the most spectacular World Cup-Race in the whole ski circus. Also non-skiers have chosen the place for relaxation and peace- fresh air and especially long sunshine duration guaranteed in Winter.
Located 135 km from Zurich and 224 km from Geneva, Wengen can be approached by car or public transportation. Please note, that car’s are not allowed in Wengen itself and have to be parked in the nearby village of Stechelberg. Should you choose to come by car you best take the expressway via Luzern and Interlaken to get to Stechelberg in about 2 hours 15 minutes. Coming from Geneva you head towards Bern where you take the exit “Bern-Wankdorf” and switch onto the A2 to head to Interlaken and onwards to Stechelberg. Alternatively, swiss federal railway will take you from Zurich to Wengen in 3 hours 5 minutes with transfers in Bern, Interlaken Ost, Lauterbrunnen and possibly Spiez. Travel time from Geneva to Wengen is 3 hours 50 minutes with transfers in Bern, Interlaken Ost, Lauterbrunnen and possibly Lausanne.
