Tignes shares the legenday ‘Espace Killy’ Pass with Val d'Isère, a vast region with over 300 km (186 miles) of lift linked trails. Generally regarded as one of Europe and the world’s best ski areas, the skiing offers something for everyone. However, it is experts who will be the most impressed, if only because they don’t find the limitations they do everywhere else. Instead there are endless off-piste options and plenty of hair-raising blacks on the marked trails themselves.
Located about 200 km from Geneva, Tignes can be accessed either by using public transportation or by car. If you decide to travel by car from Geneva you need to take the A1/E25 across the boarder to France and head towards Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. After passing close to Bonneville take the Mont-Blanc tunnel to enter Italy where you stay on the E25 until you reenter France after the pass Pré-Saint-Didier. From there, you will get to Tignes, passing La Rosière-1850 and Les Boisses, after an approximate driving time of 2 hours 50 minutes.
