Did you ever wanted to know what it feels like to ski down your own private piste? A feeling you might get skiing down Telluride's slopes as the lifts and the slopes remain uncrowded throughout the season - so you can really enjoy your ski vacation. Unlike other destination vacations, Telluride offers a truly Unhassled Mountain Experience. Telluride's free, scenic gondola connects town, Mountain Village and the slopes with ease from morning until midnight, so there's no wrestling with tickets or crowding onto busses. Visitors enjoy a blissful ski-in, ski-out experience from arrival to departure. Unlike other resorts, which require a daily drive between town and mountain, you can park your car for the duration of your stay in Telluride, and not even bother to rent one when you fly in.
In addition to Telluride's compact size, its peaceful ambiance and easy going attitude de-stress the entire ski experience. No crowds, no lines, no timetables, no hurrying, no pressure to adhere to the rules of fashion or wealth - that's the Telluride experience. Push your limits or glide through the day - it's entirely up to you.
Telluride has it’s own airport and together with the airport of Montrose offers a good access if you decide to fly in. Driving from Montrose you have to go south on Route 550 to Ridgway and then turn right onto Route 62. Follow this to Route 145 and turn left to follow the signs into Telluride. The approximate travel time from Montrose is 1 hour 25 minutes. Driving in from Denver is a bigger journey of approximately 7 hours. First, take the Interstate 70 west to Grand Junction and then go south on Route 50 to Montrose. Once in Montrose it’s the same Route as the one described before.
