Stubaier Gletscher

Beschreibung Bilder Fakten
Those in search of snow for all season thrills and spills, are strongly recommended to head for Stubai Glacier. Serviced by a network of 24 high-speed lifts, Austria’s largest Glacier Ski Resort ascends from 1,750 m (5,741 ft) to 3,200 m (10,500 ft) and is home to world-renowned snow conditions and the finest year round skiing you can imagine. From gentle runs for beginners and families, to challenging moguls, to heart pounding double black diamond runs, Stubai Glacier has everything you need for a great day of skiing or riding no matter what your ability. The naturally divided skiable terrain includes 110 km (66 miles) of trails, two permanent race courses, a 4.5 Km (2,8 miles) cross country ski track and an ice climbing tower.
Reality-based mountain adventure! It’s breathtaking views and heart-pounding runs that stretch from Schaufelspitze peak over the sunny bowls of Gaißkar to the powder stashes at Fernau Glacier. It’s parabolic skis that almost turn themselves. It’s a snowboard carving terrain of corduroy. Stubai Glacier makes alpine adventures reality.

Located about 40 km southwest of Innsbruck, Stubai Glacier can be reached by bus, leaving from Innsbruck, or by car. From Innsbruck you can reach Neustift in about 20 min. over the Brenner highway (Europa bridge), exit Schönberg = the first town in the Stubai Valley. You go past Mieders, Telfes, Fulpmes and then Neustift. A different way, where you would not have to pay toll, is by driving along the old Brenner Street until Schönberg. This route would take you about 35 minutes.
