Mount Buller is the most accessible resort in Australia. At just 248 km from Melbourne no Australian snow resort is closer to a capital city or to an international airport. Vast and varied the slopes are amazing in their variety from gentle and groomed to gladed tree runs and steep and deep. The views are as spectacular as they are inspirational. With the most extensive snowmaking system in the Southern Hemisphere, Mt Buller is a natural playground with a sculptured halfpipe, terrain park and rail park. Rising to an altitude of 5,921.9 ft (1,805 m) above sea level, the Resort embodies some of Victoria's most spectacular alpine and sub-alpine terrain.
Mount Buller is clearly emerging as Australia's best all season alpine resort. The season extends from early June to late September.
The easiest way to get to Mount Buller is to fly to Melbourne and then connect with the Mount Buller ski express coach or drive by car. Driving to Mt Buller is easy. The scenery on the way is well worth taking your time to see and enjoy. If your travelling during the winter season, remember to pick up chains along the way. You pay your resort entry (winter only) at Mirimbah where you will be advised of road conditions. Follow the well maintained sealed road up the hill and enjoy the many spectacular alpine views. In winter you will be met at the carparks by an attendant who will show you where to park. The 4WD oversnow vehicles then meet you and take you to where you are staying on the mountain.
