Killington Resort, which is located in central Vermont, stretches across 7 mountains, has a skiable terrain of 1,209 acres (469 ha) with 200 diverse trails, a summit elevation of 4,241 ft (1,293 m) and a vertical drop of 3,050 (957 m) and 33 lifts. Killington averages 250 inches (635 cm) of natural snow each winter. That, coupled with the country’s most extensive snowmaking system, has allowed Killington to offer the longest season in eastern North America for 43 consecutive years and counting. The resort is known for its diversity of terrain, providing skiers and riders of all ability levels a choice of wide-open groomed cruisers, narrow classic New England runs, moguls, steeps, and trees. Killington offers multiple terrain features for snowboarders and freeskiers including terrain parks and a Superpipe.
Situated at the intersection of Routes 4 and 100 in central Vermont near the City of Rutland, Killington can be reached in about three hours coming from Boston. Pico is located about 3 miles west of the Killington Access Road on Route 4. One of the advantages of Killington is its proximity to Canada. You can easily get there from Montreal or Toronto in a day’s trip. It is approximately 200 plus kilometres from Montreal. If you leave early enough you can get an afternoon pass and be on the slopes your first day. Directions from Montreal are as follows: From Montreal, take Highway 10 east to Highway 35 south. You will then exit at Route 133 south following this to Interstate 89 south. Take Interstate 89 till Exit 3 in Bethel and follow VT 107 and VT 100 south to Killington. The approximate travel time would be about 3 hours.
