Big White is a modern alpine village offering the ultimate mountain experience. Consistently voted one of the top ski resorts in the world, Big White is still relatively undiscovered. The resort is British Columbia’s second largest ski resort and offers world-class restaurants and full ski-in, ski-out access, but still at an affordable price. Big White’s unhurried, unpretentious and friendly ambiance will make your stay on the mountain unforgettable. Big White is blessed with 294 inches (750 cm) per year of fresh champagne powder. The skiable area is 7,355 acres (3,052 ha) and has a vertical drop of 2,550 ft (777 m). With 118 patrolled runs, groomed runs prepared nightly and green runs accessed from every lift, even a beginner will experience the thrill of big mountain skiing and riding at Big White. Renowned for glades, cruisers and bowl skiing, Big White has won numerous ‘Best in Canada’ awards including ‘Best Variety of Terrain’, ‘Best Glade Skiing’ and ‘Best Grooming’.
It is so easy to get to Big White that you don’t have to worry about whether or not you will have a car. Big White is 56 km (35 miles) southeast of Kelowna, the largest city in the Okanagan Valley, making it easily accessible. You can fly into Kelowna’s International Airport and take a quick shuttle to get you to the resort. Many of the major airlines have daily direct flights from many major cities so you have plenty of traveling options. From Big White you can experience Silver Star Mountain Resort for the day using the inter-mountain day trip shuttle.
