Alta Badia

Beschreibung Bilder Fakten
Alta Badia in the winter: a skier's paradise in the heart of the Sella Ronda as well as a favourite destination for many winter sports enthusiasts.
Miles and miles of ski-slopes with excellent snow linked by a modern and rapid system of ski- and chair-lifts to satisfy everything you can ask for from the snow:
from the ageless telemark, the first ski - to the modern and fun carving, snowboard, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing followed by qualified and professional ski instructors and mountain guides.
And if you haven't used up all your energy on the snow, you can end the afternoon "plunging" into the exciting and fun-filled rhythm of après ski with your ski-boots still on.
To become a protagonist of this magical atmosphere, you can go for an exciting excursion with snow rackets, a fun sledge-ride, a romantic outing by carriage or simply a walk amidst the white expanses of snow.
A winter without frontiers where the unique scenery offered by the Dolomites is a splendid backdrop to your fun-filled and unforgettable holiday in Alta Badia.
Skiing in Val Badia means enjoying the SELLA RONDA, 26 km (16 miles) ski-runs all around the massif of the Sella.
You can choose the colour you prefer, bright orange or green, in both cases you will take just one day to reach by skiing all the 4 Ladin valleys of the Dolomites: Val Badia, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa and Livinallongo.
The route of the Sella Ronda can be covered by beginners too; just a suggestion for the "experts": enjoy the ski-runs "Porta Vescovo" in Arabba and "Saslonch" in Val Gardena. You can buy the skiing-map of the Sella Ronda in the Tourist Offices.

Located about 186 km from Venice, Alta Badia can be reached by either using public transportation or by car. If you decide to take the car, follow the A4/E55 towards Milano and Bologna and switch later on onto the A27 heading towards “Belluno, SS51, Cortina”. After about 82 km on the A27, take the exit “Cadore, Dolomiti, Cortina”. Once you have passed Fortogna and Longarone, head towards Arabba where it is only a few more kilometres on the SS244 before you arrive in Corvara, the first village of the Badia region. The approximate travel time is about 3 hours 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can go to http://www.trenitalia.it/en/index.html and check your train itinerary online.
