Alpine Meadows

Description Pictures Facts
Known for its “mild side” and its “wild side” because of its Open Boundary Policy, Alpine Meadows Ski Resort is situated in the Tahoe National Forest at Lake Tahoe’s North Shore.
Whatever your personal adventure zone, with plenty of natural snow and nightly grooming, these mountains are ready to rip. As you glide up the mountain, your adrenaline will be pumping. As you slide off the lift, you'll swallow your heart as you inhale the inspirational vistas. The possibilities sprawl across 2,000 acres of diverse terrain on two mountains. Wide-open bowls for easy cruising. Solitary trails through the trees. Drop-ins to the steep and the deep.
This is a resort where skiers and boarders can graduate to off-piste terrain, mastering skills along the marked runs and then slowly stretching to ski the trees, unmarked runs and hike-to bowls.

To get to Alpine Meadows from San Francisco you need to take the Interstate 80-East to Truckee, California (about 200 miles from San Francisco). At Truckee, take the State Route 89-South exit, drive 10 miles, and take a right on Alpine Meadows Road. Follow this to the end (another 3 miles). Alternatively you can drive from Reno, which is about 45 miles from Truckee. Simply take the Interstate 80-West to arrive in Truckee.
