Spread in a horseshoe shape over nearly two miles of the Iguazu River, there are over 275 cascades. They are the result of a volcanic eruption. Iguazu Falls are divided into separate waterfalls by various islands.
The Falls are part of the virgin jungle ecosystem. The view from the Brazilian side is the most panoramic and there are helicopter and boat rides. Summer is intensely tropically hot and humid and in winter the water level is considerably lower.
