The Morne Trois Pitons National Park includes and protects some of our clear streams, mountains and some of their educational scientific and scenic values. Dominica is of relatively recent volcanic origin and topography is characterized by precipitous slopes, deeply incised valleys, fifty fumaroles and hot springs, freshwater lakes, a "boiling lake" and five volcanoes. In fact the island is the most rugged and mountainous in the Caribbean.
