Hardangervidda National Park
|
|
|
Europe's largest mountain plateau region is the wilderness barrier between Oslo and Bergen. Much of the region is incorporated into the Hardangervidda National Park, Norway's largest. There are but a few traditional villages and some outdoor resort complexes in this remote, spectacular scenery. Although the region is served by the scenic Oslo–Bergen rail line, it is best explored by automobile. Rugged glaciated mountains, spectacular waterfalls, and remote farming communities.
