Brecon Beacons National Park

Description Facts
The Brecon Beacons National Park has sweeping mountains, lush green open-lands and moor land interlaced with its unique history, geology, flora and fauna. There are forests, some lush river valleys and to the south at Ystradfellte spectacular waterfalls over the limestone landscape, wooded gorges and some of the best, and deepest caves in Britain. The effects and remains of the influence of the industrial revolution and its impact on the countryside, from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century, are present in parts of the National Park. These activities, coal mining, iron work and industry needed to be served by track, canals and roads that still survive and now all enhance the interest aspects of this historical and magnificent 500 square mile Park of Wales.
