Paricutin is a volcano in western Mexico. It appears in the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Volcanologists were able to watch the birth of the volcano in the middle of a cornfield and its growth between 1943 and 1952 through an eruption. The volcano has been quiet since then being the second largest volcano in Mexico.
