Mount Chimborazo is a volcano located in the Andes Mountain’s of Central Ecuador. The volcano itself is not active anymore since about 10’000 years. It is one of the seven natural wonders on earth. Because Mount Chimborazo lies only one degree south of the equator, we can say that the summit is the furthest point from the center on the Earth and with this the coldest point in the Equator. The elevation in the center of the country and the moderating effect of the Humboldt Current gives the country near perfect weather until you get high enough.
