Glacier Perito Moreno
|
|
|
Glacier Perito Moreno is a part of a large collection of Glaciers extending over 300 km. In south west of Argentina is situated the Perito Moreno Glacier. This is one of the few Glaciers in the world which is still advancing. The Glacier is situated on a very narrow shore of “lago argentino”. This implicates that when the glacier advances in winter, the natural water flow is blocked. Like this the water level rises until the pressure of the water becomes too high. The ice dam starts to break into pieces, sending huge icebergs downstream.
