Bora Bora is an island in the Society Islands of French Polynesia, Tahiti, about 260 km northwest of the capital, Papeete. Bora Bora Lagoon is its most treasured feature with the assortment of blue waters. The island is surrounded by a lagoon and a fringing reef. In the center of the island are the remnants of an extinct volcano, rising to two peaks.
Today the Island is mainly dependent on tourism. French is the official language of the Island and the best method of transport is the bicycle.
