Australian Fossil Mammals (Riversleigh/Naracoorte)

Description
Close to the Victorian border in the southeast corner of South Australia, Naracoorte Caves National Park is part of the World Heritage site comprising two non-contiguous Australian fossil mammal sites. The Naracoorte site is in South Australia, and the other in Riversleigh, Queensland, more than 2000 kilometres away. They are among the world's 10 greatest fossil sites and are a great illustration of the key stages of evolution of Australia's unique fauna.
The 305-hectare Naracoorte site includes the caves and the series of stranded coastal dune ridges parallel to the present South Australian coastline.
