This is a freshwater lake in the Northwest Territories of Canada. and is the deepest in North America. The Great Slave’s Lake got its name from the North American Indian slaves. Its main tributaries are The Hay and Slave Rivers drained by the Mackenzie River. The western shores are wooded but the north arms reach into tundra like landscape. The area is still important for gold mining.
