More than any other resort in America, eight courses grace Pinehurst's 2,000-acre landscape. Ross, Fazio, Maples and Jones have left their mark to make each of them a unique test of golf. The Donald Ross course (1907) can be played year round. Course No. 2 is a challenge as it is combined with many factors such as its length, topography, unruly routing, water features or green size. The course is designed to test both the long and short game as it has crowned greens, carefully placed bunkers and a strategic layout. The course is ranked top 10 in the country, and holds many championships including the 2005 U.S. Open Championship.
