The castle was constructed in the 15th century, in Gothic style. Afterwards it took on different styles first in the Renaissance and then in the Baroque style due to extension and reconstruction. The Castle was later abandoned for almost a century and was severely damaged during the Napoleonic period. The castle was renovated at the end of the 19th century. The castle now portrays its often disordered history.
