Situated on the outskirts of a quaint village by the name of Impruneta, the Relais Villa l'Olmo is perched on a hill dotted with grey olive trees, overlooking the Chianti valley. Lying a mere 10 kilometres from the city of Florence and its airport, a 10-minute drive from the main road to Siena and from the A1 motorway linking Milan to Rome, this is the ideal location for relaxing in the Tuscan countryside without forfeiting the chaotic bustle of Florence. While the city can be reached by public transportation every 30 minutes, the village centre is a 5-minute stroll from the Relais, where the Tuscan culinary delicacies can be savoured in typical trattorias.

The Property

Nestled in a 70-hectar landscape of rolling hills, the 16th-century Relais mirrors the careful renovation completed in 2001, work that was painstakingly undertaken to preserve the original architectural structure. In addition to the 8 apartments, 2 cottages and farmhouse available for guests, the property encompasses vineyards, olive groves, a traditional Tuscan restaurant, the owners’ private residence and an operating farm.

Recreation and Common Areas

The reception offers guests information and bookings for reservations, sightseeing, golf tee-times, babysitters and anything else that improves their stay. All guests have access to a large swimming pool area surrounded beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking the valley and countryside. Barbeques are available on the same grounds. Upon request, breakfast can be served in an ancient Loggia.Special rates for Relais guests are available at the “Ugolino Golf Club” and the “Tennis Equitation Club,” both within a short driving distance from the property.

 

 

The Apartments and Cottages

Made up of a living room, a fully equipped kitchen area, bedrooms and bathrooms, each apartment is tastefully decorated with hand-made lamps, cheery gingham and stripe fabrics, traditional rod-iron tables and chairs, and comfortable sofas. Comfort is assured by modern kitchen and bathroom fittings as well as amenities, i.e., direct phone lines, satellite TV – flat screens, DVD, air conditioning, independent heating, and daily cleaning, towel and bed service. Washing machines are available in certain rentals.

While the two private cottages offer the same comforts as the apartments, they each benefit, in addition, from a private pool and garden overlooking the valley.
