The Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational welcomes 25 of the finest plein air (painters who work outside, not in a studio) painters from Hawaii and the mainland to paint on location around Maui.
As well as the actual painting, the invitational presents a lecture on Plein Air painting, a quick draw, sunset paint-out, a gala reception and, of course, an exhibition of the created works. Visitors to the island have numerous opportunities to meet and talk with the artists.
