The Northern California Martin Luther King, Jr Birthday Observance Committee, Inc organises this weekend of celebration and remembrance in San Francisco every year.
The Freedom March takes place on Monday, starting at 4th Street and Townsend Street, and around 20,000 people take part. Events taking place over the weekend include the MLK Youth and Family Day at Yerba Buena Gardens, situated on Mission St between 3rd and 4th Sts. Celebration services are held and there is a Labour and Community Breakfast.
