Over 450 athletes from all over Maine converge on Sugarloaf resort for the Special Olympics Winter Games, to compete in Alpine, Nordic and sit-skiing, snowshoeing, figure and speed skating.
The tournament, for physically handicapped athletes, fills three days. Supporting events include competitions, a torchlit parade and fireworks, a parade of champions, a community dinner and a victory dance.
