Little Torch Key welcomes amateur fishermen for the annual Grand Slam Tournament. The event features 20 two-person teams and draws contestants from the US, Bahamas and beyond to fish for bonefish, tarpon and permit.
It's an all-release event (meaning all the fish are released straight after capture) using light tackle, spin casting and fly-casting.
The three fish are the most sought-after game fish in the sport. Permit is the hardest of the three to catch, though to win the event you inevitably have to capture a "grand slam", at least one of each, with the winners generally netting anything between ten and 30 fish. The fishing itself takes place over two days, with each team taking a boat and guide.
Aside from the fishing there is registration and a welcome dinner on the Friday night and dockside parties over the weekend before the awards dinner on Sunday night.
