Fall Foliage in Vermont
When: 15 Sep - 2 Nov 2008 (annual)
Where: Vermont
Vermont is world famous for the beauty of its autumnal colours. Head to rural Green Mountain State to enjoy nature's seasonal spectacle as an unrivalled natural palette of red and orange makes the hills look as if they are on fire.

Vermont is an especially good place to see autumn because the most intense, red colours of leaves depend on warm, sunny autumn days accompanied by freezing nights. Vermont guarantees these as well as hillsides covered largely with maples and birches which all turn at the same time during the short fall season. This makes it an especially good place to visit.

Here the leaves start to turn on higher elevations around mid-September moving down to lower ground and pushing further south throughout October. Visit the Vermont Fall Foliage website for a rundown of the best places to visit.
