Concord is only a small town, but its place in American history is assured as it was the site of one of the first battles of the Revolutionary War, the Battle of Lexington and Concord. Settled in 1635, the historical interest doesn't stop there. The picturesque town has also been home to some of America's leading writers and thinkers, such as Nathaniel Hawthorne, Henry David Thoreau and Louisa May Alcott.
