The Bourne Scallop Festival at Buzzards Bay Park is dedicated to the worship of that tender, fleshy morsel, the scallop.
The fun kicks off with a parade down Main Street. In true East Coast fashion, bands, antique cars, hot rods, fire engines and more all grace the tarmac. The event that everyone waits for, however, is the scallop tasting, which begins under the big top at around 7pm on the first night.
Musical entertainment ranges from big band to country and soft rock - a plethora of inoffensive sounds to chew to. There are also children's rides and games, daily scallop and chicken dinners and a professional Arts & Crafts and Home Expo Show, featuring over 130 vendors.
