It's love-all at this year's Boston Indoor Tennis Classic, an international tournament organised by gay Boston-based tennis group Tennis 4 All, held at the Woburn and Winchester tennis clubs.
The tournament was previously known as the Boston Rainbow Classic. Play is on indoor hard courts owing to the temperamental nature of New England weather. The tournament begins with a draw party at the Club Cafe Restaurant/Bar in Boston. Competitors are urged to go easy on the booze though, as play starts at 8am the next day.
The two tennis clubs are about ten miles from each other and 15-25 miles outside of Boston, so if you don't have one already, hire cars are strongly recommended.
Play continues throughout Saturday and Sunday and on Saturday night there is a Tournament Banquet. Matches resume on Sunday, giving the losers the chance to watch and take tips from the pros.
