Visitors can immerse themselves in the past 2000 years of England's history during the Festival of History at Kelmarsh Hall, Northamptonshire, presented by English Heritage.
The festival presents everything from falconry to jousting displays, offering an insight into the lives of everyday people from Romans to those involved in the Second World War.
Visitors can enjoy dramatic battle re-enactments, cheer on the contestants in the knights' tournament, wander the streets of the medieval living history encampment, avoid the highwaymen and enjoy music, dance, good food and ale.
Performers present entertainment from throughout the ages, and there are historical fashion shows, an exhibition of vintage cars and bicycles, traditional crafts and even a recreation of an 18th-century pleasure garden.
