The Cathedral of the Isles, near Millport on Great Cumbrae, is the only cathedral on the Scottish Islands and also has the distinction of being the smallest cathedral in the UK. Designed by noted Gothic Revival architect William Butterfield, it was opened in 1851 and features his trademark style of architecture. There are Episcopalian services every Sunday and the cathedral also serves as a retreat centre, where you can stay. Please visit their website for details of how to apply.
