Established in 1989, the British Birdwatching Fair at Egleton Nature Reserve appeals to bird watchers across the country. Featuring a tented village, bird sightings, demonstrations, lectures and celebrity guests, each year the event raises funds for threatened species.
Over the past few years, the proceeds from the event have contributed to projects across the world, from conservation in eastern Cuba to the highly-successful Save the Albatross Campaign.
Many events run throughout the weekend, from workshops and the opportunity to become a wildlife crime investigator to exciting safaris and the chance to meet guest speakers.
The event is jointly promoted by the RSPB and the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust.
