Ashburton morphs into New Orleans once a year for the Ashburton Blues Festival, where blues divas and soul men belt out their tunes to enthusiastic crowds. Concerts take place all over the town in pubs, bars and the town hall.
Bands performing this year include Dr Feelgood, Ian Parker, The Wildcards, Ernie's Rhythm Section, Smokestack and The Bad Knees Blues Band. There's a retro and vintage clothes stall, a vinyl stall and many music workshops.
