The annual International Istanbul Film Festival features around 200 films in more than 20 sections, including unforgettable classics and recent masterpieces. Screenings take place at venues including the Emek, Fitaº and Atlas movie theatres.
This year's eagerly awaited film is Be Kind Rewind by Michel Gondry, competing against 11 contenders in the International Competition category for the Golden Tulip award.
Turkish cinema is represented by 30 fiction and documentary films produced in 2007-2008 and screened in various sections, including the National Competition, Out of Competition and Documentaries.
Special Screening: Turkish Classics Revisited, American Independents and '68 and Its Legacy are just some of this year's new categories, complemented by discussions, workshops, masterclasses, exhibitions and concerts.
