Jazz Parade in Fribourg is one of the biggest events dedicated to traditional and modern jazz in French-speaking Switzerland, plus a lot of concerts are free!

Over the past 15 years, the festival has hosted numerous legendary New Orleans jazz performers as well as leading figures from the classic and traditional scene of Canton Fribourg and beyond.

Every year, spectators from all over Europe enjoy the festival's highly original programme, its intimacy and exclusive productions and the unique scenery surrounding the city.

The programme features an average of six concerts a day, on four official stages. The large covered stage on the Place George-Python features big performances by international artists. New Orleans bands play in the New Orleans Cafe tent. Pianists perform on the bandstand in the middle of Place George-Python, while gospel concerts take place on the big stage in the Grand-Places Park.

During the festival, the city centre is closed to traffic and the concert stages can be easily reached on foot.
