Prepare for a white-knuckle-ride of a day out at Gothenburg's famous Liseberg Amusement Park. The adrenalin rides here include Kanonen, which takes riders to a speed of 75km/h in under three seconds.

Liseberg is also home to Balder, the biggest wooden coaster in Scandinavia. Here's hoping its good luck continues and the woodworm stay away for another year.

The park caters for all tastes and adrenalin levels, from scary rides such as the new SpinRock (you get the picture) to the kiddie-friendly Circus Express and Little Frogs. Other distractions include a theatre, food and retail outlets.
