Gothenburg celebrates Christmas in traditional style at Scandinavia's biggest amusement park - the Liseberg. Shrieks of delight should replace shrieks from adrenalin highs, as Santa promises to be there too.
From April to October, the Liseberg Amusement Park devotes itself to scaring the wits out of children and their parents with the biggest and best in adrenalin-pumping rides. At Christmas, families visit the park to enjoy fun and shopping at the enormous festive market.
Millions of tiny twinkling lights decorate the park, while dozens of market stalls offer local and other crafts. Choirs and bands fill the air with Christmas carols. For the brave, there's even an ice rink to skid around on.
Lucia Day (12 December) is a particularly special day all over Sweden and Liseberg crowns a Gothenberg beauty in the traditional way. Otherwise, when Santa isn't too busy in Santapark up north, he's around to provide Christmas cheer and delight all the children.
