How can you follow a South American river system and then experience a real live rainforest, right in the middle of Stockholm? Head for the Aquaria Water Museum, devoted to water and the life that evolves around it.

Wander around the Tropical Water zone, where it's possible to trace the route of a South American river from its beginnings in a rainforest to its finale in the sea, including a trip through a mangrove swamp, a sea aquarium and a coral reef. In the cooler Nordic Waters area you can follow the life of a Swedish river from the cool mountains to the choppy Baltic Sea, taking in mountain lakes and salmon rapids on its way.

If you can't make it further than Stockholm, this is a great place to start pretending that you can.
