One of Russia's oldest, the Nikulin Circus boasts big feet, white faces and side-splitting laughter. It was named after Russia's most famous clown, Yury V Nikulin, and has hosted the best horse and other phenomenal acts from around the world.

It was established as the Old Moscow Circus in 1880 by rider and gymnast Albert Salamonski. In 1919 it was nationalised and became the first Moscow State Circus in accordance to Lenin's decree. From 1960 Yury joined the circus and performed as a clown, later being named the Chief Producer in 1983. The last performance in the old building took place in 1985 when the Nikulin Circus was later built to hold more than 2000 spectators.

To this day the circus never fails to amuse its guests with acrobatic acts, great costumes, cabaret, animal performances and enough clowns falling over and comedy to have children and adults wetting their pants.
