Moscow's Museum of Contemporary Russian History is housed in what was - between 1831 and 1917 - the Moscow English Club. The museum concentrates on the revolutionary fervour that transformed Russia from a Tsarist to a communist state between the years of 1905 and the Great Patriotic War between Hitler and Stalin. It also looks back to the 18th century when the Moscow English Club was set up and forward to the present day and the decades following the fall of communism.
