The three very 1970s-looking, slightly shabby auditoriums of the National Theatre in Bucharest host professional domestic and foreign plays by a broad selection of both classical and contemporary Romanian playwrights.
The theatre's Big Hall (Sala Mare), puts on the grand productions, while the Ampitheatre (Sala Amfiteatru) shows smaller plays and TV shows and the Studio Hall (Sala Atelier) offers a mix of low-key shows and presentations.
