The Bucharest Botanical Garden was founded in 1884 by botanist Dimitrie Brandza. It is an oasis of peace and delight for both the eye and the spirit, boasting more than 10,000 species of plants.
The garden features an ornamental plants section, an Italian garden, a rosarium and a greenhouse complex for tropical plants. In the adjoining Botanical Museum there are paintings and sketches of flora and fauna, botanical manuscripts, artisanal objects and an exotic plant exhibition.
