The Praia do Sul (South Beach) is the closest beach to the village of Ericeira and is therefore pretty popular with both locals and tourists.
The beach is also known as "whale beach" as a rather large whale was beached here in 1872. There are a few snack bars on the beach, a bar and a disco, as well as sunshades for rent.
