Portugal's premier Gulbenkian Orchestra performs its annual season of concerts in the large auditorium at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation on Thursdays, Fridays and occasional Saturdays.

Led by music director Lawrence Foster and various visiting conductors, and featuring numerous renowned soloists, the orchestra performs a wide-ranging selection of works.

As well as its domestic programme, the orchestra has also toured most of Europe and parts of Africa. For more than 30 years it has featured many of the most respected soloists and conductors, but it is particularly well known for its recordings under the direction of Michel Corboz. Lawrence Foster took over in 2002/2003.
