Jazz-lovers gather to hear the soulful tunes at the Funchal Jazz Festival, held at the Quinta Magnolia Gardens. Both Madeiran artists and famous international musicians perform.
Highlights of the bill for 2008 include Didier Lockwood New Generation, Phil Woods & friends and The Chucho Valdés Quintet. Other events such as street theatre and live performances in local bars also take place during the festival period.
