Warsaw's School of Caribbean Dance organises an annual Drum Festival, offering a programme of workshops, performances and talks. On the last day, at the special Drum Fair, visitors can see instruments being made and buy one to take home.
The workshop programme (suitable for beginners) covers drumming from a wide range of places. Turn up to learn the Brazilian Batucada, how to play the West African Djembe or beat out Cuban rhythms. There is also an improvisation class for those who are a little more experienced.
An extensive programme of drum performances takes place in club venues across the city for the duration of the festival. Please visit the festival website for details.
