Where: Warsaw Chamber Opera House
Opening Hours: Various
First held in 1991, the Warsaw Chamber Opera presents an annual Mozart festival, showcasing the impressive operatic output of this prolific composer. In a music-packed month and a half, the company puts on multiple performances of his best-loved operas.

The opera programme incorporates all of his stage works, including the three da Ponte collaborations - Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte (which opens the festival this year) - as well as the two operas from Mozart's last year, La clemenza di Tito and Die Zauberflöte.

In addition to the staged works there are concerts, including concertos and symphonies on period instruments, chamber music and Mozart's great sacred choral works, including his Requiem in D minor. Delirious from illness, it is said that the dying Amadeus convinced himself that he was writing his own Requiem and it was left incomplete at his death.

The Warsaw Chamber Opera, established in 1961, performs a wide variety of Baroque, Classical and Contemporary music, and gained worldwide recognition after its first Mozart Festival in 1991, on the 200th anniversary of the composer's death. The company is the only one in the world to have all of Mozart's operas permanently in their repertoire and this festival provides an excellent opportunity to see them performed.
