Founded in 1958 and continually adding exhibits, the Polish Maritime Museum stands on both banks of Gdansk's River Motlawa (visitors can cross the river in the appropriately named ferry Motlawa). Its other attractions also include the Zuraw (a crane which can date its predecessors back to the 14th century), the Granary on Olowianka island (in 1643 there were seven granaries there, out of 315 in total in Gdansk), quays, ships and lighthouses. Everything you could possibly want to know about the bustling Baltic sea-trade is here.
