First held in 2003, under the auspices of the Ludwig van Beethoven Foundation in Poland, Warsaw's Piano Festival features a number of recitals over five days, at both the Grand Hall of the Royal Palace and the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall.

The festival aims to promote young pianists, Polish and foreign, as well as to present great piano virtuosos to the public.

The 2007 event presents performances by young winners of the most important international piano competitions, such as Amir Tebenikhin, who came first in the Anton Rubinstein Piano Competition in Dresden 2007. There is also a special piano recital to commemorate 100 years since the death of Edward Grieg and 50 years since the death of Jean Sibelius. Performing a a selection of pieces by these composers is Juho Pohjonen, the 2004 winner of the Nordic Piano Competition in Nyborg.
